Remembering Damien Thomas (1942 - 2025)

We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Damien Thomas, who played Captain Taylor in our short film Dignity.

Like many independent filmmakers, we approached the prospect of working with Damien with a degree of trepidation. His distinguished career spanned decades across film, television and theatre, and his body of work spoke for itself. What we discovered, however, was a performer who was warm, generous, and unfailingly supportive throughout the production.

Damien brought a remarkable presence to the role of Captain Taylor. He possessed that rare quality of drawing an audience's attention without ever appearing to demand it. Thoughtful, professional and endlessly engaging, he elevated every scene in which he appeared.

We remain grateful that he chose to be part of Dignity and will remember him not only for his extraordinary talent, but also for the kindness, patience and good humour he brought to our set. His contribution to the film was considerable, and his performance remains one of its defining strengths.
